10 year Anniversary!!! |

How can it be 10 years already? We've been asking ourselves that for days now. It really is amazing how much has gone on in our lives and the wonderful people that we've met all because of Stockcar Named Desire. Please take note that we will be having our 10 year anniversary party at ... Lee's Liquor Lounge. We have decided to have this brew-haha at the location of our very first gig. Please make a note on the calendar and come help us celebrate 10 years great shows and even greater friends!! |

But we haven't been lazy by any means. Stockcar has been everywhere and anywhere. Recently, we've landed several house gigs throughout the city running us ragged Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights. Make it out to a show and help support the band!! |

Dixie's on Grand has cancelled music on Thursdays for the time being. That being said, check the calander for new dates to fill those slots. |

MINNESOTA MUSIC AWARD WINNERS!!!! |

The 2006 Minnesota Music Awards were a blast everybody. We had a great time and got to see alot of old and new friends. We wanted to take a second and thank everyone for voting us BEST ROCKABILLY BAND OF 2006!!!
In addition, our own Travis Merchant walked away with awards for BEST JAZZ BAND OF 2006, for his work with the Working Stiffs, and also BEST JAZZ RECORDING OF 2006, for his work on Metropolitian.
In addition, our good friend and sometimes sax player, Steve Clarke, took home BEST HORN PLAYER OF 2006!!
This truly is an honor for all of us. We really appreciate all of our fans and friends, the Minnesota Music Academy, and all those that have influenced us, both good and bad, over the years. |

TRAVIS IS CROSSING THE POND |

You may notice from the calendar that Stockcar is taking a short break from October 29th through November 5th. The reason is Travis is taking off for Dublin Ireland to (hopefully) represent us well. He's gonna try to bring some Yankee Rock and Roll to the green isle. Barring any international incidents, we should hear some great stories on stage after that!!! |

Just wanted to give a last minute update. Travis just got back from going on tour with the boys from JETT BLACK of Denver, Colorado. If you haven't seen them, they are one of the hardest rocking bands around right now. They covered everywhere from Kansas City, Dallas, Joplin, and many points in between. Even managed to endure a search of the bus and equipment by the Oklahoma State Troopers. What a morning. It was a great time. Jett Black played with Reverend Horton Heat, Honky (featuring members of the Butthole Surfers), Charley Horse (featuring members of Cramps and Nashville Pussy) and various other note slingers. Talk about a tour!!! Travis is in the works to bring Jett Black to Minneapolis for some shows. Keep watching the schedule to see when Stockcar can link up to the JETT!!! |

It's been a helluva year folks! Between getting our new site up and running, playing our asses off, and getting to spend time with fans and friends, a GREAT year. We can't believe all that we've experienced this year and we want to thank you for being there with us.

Stockcar Named Desire was nominated again for "Best Band of the Year" in the rockabilly category!!!!
On another Note...
Our own Travis Merchant was nominated as "Male Vocalist of the Year" in Minnesota by the Minnesota Music Academy!!!!
